Update...detailed schedule...

Sonia here...I haven't heard from Sarah yet about her hike today, which I assume means she has no internet access in Gorak Shep. I usually hear from her by this time of day. Not worried about her AT ALL, but just wanted to let y'all know what she's up to based on her schedule.

It's 9:21am here, which means it's 9:06pm there. That means she's going to bed right about now, and when she wakes up she will be heading to....wait for it...wait for it....EVEREST BASE CAMP!!   Woo hoo!

I'll leave you with this today...this is the live track she sent me from her Garmin. It shows the path she will have hiked from Lobuche (on the bottom of the map) to Gorak Shep where they were scheduled to have lunch. From there they hiked up to Kala Patthar to watch the sun set on Everest...don't know about you, but I can't wait to see those pics! Kala Patthar is at 18,519 ft. elevation, and is the highest point on they will reach on their hike. Then they hiked back down to spend the night in Gorak Shep. Tomorrow she is Base Camp bound, and I can imagine the excitement she is feeling!

I couldn't help but want to try and share some of the excitement she was experiencing...so based on my calculations...just as it was getting dark in Nepal after her Everest sunset...it was just getting light here.

I found it so cool that we were watching the same sun at the same time...setting for her, and rising for me, here in Austin, TX.  I'm sorry, I know y'all were expecting Everest sunset pictures today and all you got is me...but I promise, she'll be back online soon...and I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

Me in my Everest Base Camp shirt...for the 10th day, but unlike Sarah, I have the benefit of clean laundry!

Have a great day, Sarah...we're all cheering you on!! 💕💕

About once a year I like to take a solo trip. Time to myself to reset, recenter, and make sure I'm keeping these two feet that don't...
