Ready, Set...Here Comes Everest!

I'm now 51 hours out from leaving Madison to start this journey. The anticipation is incredible and I'm loving every second of it. It's so close and I'm getting down to last minute prep. Today was my COVID test and checking the last of the boxes for all my paperwork that I need to have for the trip.

Last night I tried out a Go Pro time lapse while I packed...don't laugh...or do...either way I am leaving for Nepal in TWO DAYS!!!

<Dang technology issues...adding figuring this out to the list if things to do before I leave!>

Here's my 34 lbs of snacks...and yes, BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACON!! 😋

Yesterday I took time with my 14 year old to make a prayer flag that will be hung on the trip. It was such a great experience to have with him and I appreciate how this reflects both his wishes/prayers and concerns.

Prayer flags come in five colours – blue for the sky, white for air/wind, red for fire, green for water and yellow for earth. Himalayans believe that when the wind blows the flags, it spreads the blessings, good will and compassion embodied in the images and writings across the land. Eventually the prints fade and the prayers become part of the universe, and the prayer flags are renewed.

Ready, set...Everest is right around the corner! Bring it on!

About once a year I like to take a solo trip. Time to myself to reset, recenter, and make sure I'm keeping these two feet that don't...
