This is Sarah's sister, Sonia, updating for her. Here's the update from Lukla, before their hike yesterday...it's 7:30am (11/6) as I'm typing this in Texas, but it's 6:15pm (11/6) in Sarah time. We'll probably sync up where I'm posting in the morning of her prior days adventures until she's able to have the time and WiFi to post herself. She's doing AMAZING, and learning so much about the country, culture, and cause.
Here's her journal entry, Saturday, November 6th from Lukla...her words, not mine!
"11:36am
Just done walking around Lukla and finding myself completely overwhelmed. So different from anything I've ever seen. I tried to soak it all up and did pretty good, but I'm glad I'll have the time again when we get back down.
I'm loving every second of this and in a little bit lunch will be served and then we'll hit the trail to Phakding. Finding and seeing lots of little things as you can see in the pics.
My heart is so happy...weather is cool but not cold. Outside just feels like where I belong.
I look at the kids and can't help but think about how many are at risk of being exploited...I wish I could do more.
If you can help with a donation, I would be oh so grateful. Together we can make a difference. Namaste."
