Time to Celebrate!

Today we started with breakfast and a little hike. We wandered up hill and came to the Lukla hospital.

Here's the village of Lukla below and the entrance to the hospital.

While I'm used to seeing the Patients' Bill of Rights in the U.S., I found this Virtues Give Value to Life sign inside the hospital.

While the hike was great, this day was all about celebrating as a team having completed the trek!

We had cake that we celebrated a 100% success rate for the trek as well as the birthdays of three team members!

We acknowledged our porters and their tremendously important role they played in the success of this trip.

Remember the pic of all the gear they hauled every day for this team? Just incredibly impressive what they did day after day to ensure the success of this trek.

Certificates were awarded...

And then the music came on and we spent a good part of the night dancing, kicking back, and just enjoying time together with the trekking team, our guides, and porters. What a fun, well-deserved night of celebration! Here's a video of the party getting started...

I'd also share the video of Ignacio leading us all in the Coconut song that offered plenty of laughs on the trip, but I told him I'd hold it back from public view. You'll have to settle for this one...but it misses the ending we usually gave it. I'll never look at a coconut the same after this trip! Thanks, Nacho! 🤣

I can't believe this trip is almost over...I fly out today and will land in Chicago tomorrow exhausted but with a full heart and lots of memories.

Plenty more photos to sort through and stories to share so don't go anywhere!

Lastly, fundraising won't stop and today some of the team is going to visit safe houses and learn more about front line action to help stop trafficking. Any amount helps us make a difference.

Thank you for following along and your support!

Next up will be a lot of Kathmandu wandering, photos, culture and history so keep your eyes open for it!

About once a year I like to take a solo trip. Time to myself to reset, recenter, and make sure I'm keeping these two feet that don't...
